Parking is available onsite for a fee or there is free street parking available nearby. Please plan for all parties to meet at the gate of Dock C 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. Our captain will meet you there to check IDs and sign the required waivers and will escort you to the vessel for a safety briefing.

Cancellations

Mechanical Failure or Inclement Weather Cancellations

Our cruises are fully refundable for mechanical failure or inclement weather related cancellations.  This includes mechanical problems, storms, rain, fog, high winds, or any other mechanical or weather conditions which the captain determines are unsafe to leave the dock.  You will be contacted within 24 hours of your cruise date if there is a mechanical or inclement weather cancellation and you are welcome to reschedule, if possible.

Customer Cancellations

Our cruises are fully refundable up to 7 days prior to the cruise date.  In the event of inclement weather or mechanical failure, your cruise is fully refundable (see weather policy). There will be a 50% cancellation fee for customer cancellations made less than 7 days prior to the cruise date.  If a customer cancellation is made within 24 hours of the cruise date, the customer is responsible for the full charge of the cruise.

Late Arrivals/No Shows

Failure to arrive at the scheduled departure time will be considered a no-show and will result in the cancellation of the charter. No refunds will be issued for late arrivals and no-shows.

Weather Delays and Dockside Hosting

If we are delayed by weather conditions (1 hour maximum before cancelling), we ask you to come aboard and start the party, while we keep a close eye on conditions and radar. This decision will be made by CCYC as early as we are certain, and you will be notified immediately if we determine that the charter should be delayed or cancelled. If the weather does not clear after that first hour, you will receive a refund minus a $250 dockside fee.

Shortening Cruise due to Circumstances Outside our Control
Partial charters are charters which are shortened due to current or expected inclement conditions, or circumstances beyond our control. Our goal is for every charter to be a perfect cruise, but sometimes safety and comfort force us to shorten a charter. Partial charters are charged a prorated fee UNLESS the charterer decides to continue the event dockside for the duration of the cruise. In this instance, there will be no prorated refunds and CCYC will be deemed to perform its obligations per the charter contract.

Passenger Limit

Per USCG Regulations, we are limited to 6 passengers maximum while underway, including children and infants. The 6 passenger limit does not include the captain, but does include any other outside vendors such as photographers, wedding officiants, etc.

Safety

Safety First!

The Captain will do a short safety briefing prior to your cruise.

First Aid

There is a First Aid kit on board, however, we are not able to dispense medications such as Tylenol, Dramamine, etc.

Life Jackets

Per USCG Regulations, we are equipped with enough life jackets on board for all passengers and crew, including infants and child-sizes. If you are cruising with children, you are welcome to bring their own life jackets should it make you feel more comfortable to do so.

Seasickness

Waves and wind can be a part of cruising. The captain will take into consideration current conditions, trends, and forecasts in order to decide if it is safe and reasonable to cruise. If you are prone to or are worried about motion sickness or sea sickness, please consult your physician or pharmacist for recommendations. It is typically recommended to take any medication prior to the cruise start time rather than waiting until you feel ill.

Special Assistance/ADA/Accessibility

Please let us know if any of your guests require special assistance and we will try to accommodate as best as possible.  We regularly cruise with guests of all abilities, however, due to the design of the vessel, we are unable to be fully ADA compliant. Wheelchairs and walkers can be used on the walk to the vessel and on the dock but cannot be used on board.  Guests will need to step across a 12-18 inch gap and descend 3 small steps to board the yacht.  There is comfortable seating aboard the yacht.  The sides of the vessel are 36 inches high, making it easy and safe to walk around.  There are two steps (without handrails) down to the cabin and the restroom.  Please take into consideration that while the vessel is underway, there is going to be movement.  Guests are asked to use caution at all times when moving about the vessel.

Conduct

Marina Etiquette

We are all guests of the marina, and as such, we ask that you respect the other boaters’ privacy and keep noise to a minimum while on marina grounds. Guests are NOT permitted to use the marina facilities. While there is no dress code on board our yacht, please wear cover-ups when in the marina.

Inappropriate Behavior

Should passenger actions or behavior make the crew feel that safety is compromised, other guests are made to feel uncomfortable, or that they are unable to focus on cruising the boat and maintaining safe conditions, the captain reserves the right to deny service and/or return the offending individual/group to the nearest dock, which may not be our original departure location.  No refunds will be issued.

Alcohol

Bringing your own alcoholic beverages

You may bring alcoholic beverages aboard, including red wine. Glass is prohibited except for wine or liquor bottles, which must remain on the bar inside the cabin. We provide a cooler with complimentary bottled and sparkling water and ice.  We also provide reusable drink and dining ware and beer koozies for cans. Our crew is happy to prestock the cooler with the alcoholic beverages of your choice for an additional cost (please select this option as an add-on when booking).  We are also happy to help you load, set up your bar, and help keep the area clean, but we are unable to otherwise provide or handle alcohol unless requested upon booking. You are welcome to bring your own beverages and serve yourselves.

Age Requirements

When alcohol is on board the yacht all guests will need to have ID with them. Any passenger consuming alcohol must be at least 21, and passengers assume legal consequences due to drinking of alcohol. Any guest under 21 will need to be accompanied by their own parent or legal guardian. Any instance of underage drinking will result in immediate termination of the charter for all guests with no refunds issued.

Intoxication

We welcome your responsible enjoyment of alcoholic beverages on board, however for safety and courtesy reasons, we do not cruise with intoxicated passengers. If your event plan involves heavy drinking or intentional intoxication we suggest you choose another venue. Should a guest arrive intoxicated or become intoxicated during the charter, the captain reserves the right to deny service or return the offending individual or entire group to the nearest dock, which may not be the original departure location. No rescheduling will be available and no refunds will be issued for charters shortened or cancelled due to intoxicated guests.

Drugs

ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY

Under NO circumstances are illegal substances permitted on board.  Any passenger bringing illegal substances on board will be held responsible for all damages that may be caused by such action, including but not limited to: entire cost of the vessel due to confiscation by authorities, loss of income due to vessel down time, liability for injuries, and legal fees incurred by all parties. Our captains are bound by USCG rules to immediately report all possession of illegal substances to authorities, who will meet us at the nearest dock or board us on the water to take further action.

Medical Marijuana

Please note that while marijuana is medically legal in Maryland, is NOT legal on the federal level and marijuana is not permitted on board in any form, even with a medical prescription. As a federally documented and licensed vessel, we are bound by federal law (not state law).  Marijuana and medical marijuana are included in our zero tolerance policy.  Please do not bring it with you!

Courtesy

Footwear

Heels, wedges, platforms, or any type of shoe that raises your foot more than one inch are not able to be worn on board for safety reasons. Any guest wearing raised shoes will be asked to remove them upon boarding. It is not recommended to go barefoot, as the deck can get hot during the summer months, so please plan accordingly. Flip-flops, sandals, flat-shoes, or white-soled sneakers are recommended.

Smoking

Due to fire regulations, smoking, vaping, and/or medical marijuana is NOT permitted board and we are not able to make any exceptions to this safety requirement.  Additionally, we cannot allow any flame, including candles, sparklers, fireworks, etc.

Restrooms

While Proud Mary is equipped with a small head (restroom) on board, we recommend that you use the facilities prior to boarding the boat. The head has an electric pedal-flush toilet. Toilet paper is provided. Sanitary products, diapers, paper towels or wet wipes are NOT to be flushed. We have placed disposal bags and a trash can in the head for your convenience.  The charter customer is responsible for all costs associated with damaged or clogged toilets, including lost revenue due to downtime while the toilet is repaired.

Gratuities

Tips are always appreciated, but never expected!  On board, you will find a venmo QR code should you wish to tip your captain.

Personal Belongings

What to Bring

Please plan to bring your government-issued photo ID, as well as any personal items that you may wish to bring with you for the charter. Some suggested items include a jacket or sweater, hat, sunglasses, and camera. Chesapeake Classic Yacht Charters will provide water and light snacks, blankets, towels, and sunscreen.

We are not responsible for your personal belongings. Please consider leaving valuable items at home.

No Pets/No Service Animals

We love our furry friends!  However, for their safety, the Coast Guard does not permit us to allow any animals, including service animals on board, as we do not have a USCG approved method of rescuing animals in an emergency.

Termination of Charter

Failure to agree to or abide by our required safety regulations will result in immediate termination of the charter. Guests will be removed from the vessel at the earliest opportunity to the nearest dock, which may not be the same dock from which we departed. If your charter is terminated by the captain, you will not receive a refund, and you will be responsible for your own transportation from the port of disembarkation.

Recreational Activities

Swimming

Due to insurance and Coast Guard restrictions for commercial vessels, we are unable to allow swimming or jumping off of Proud Mary into the water. The act of intentionally jumping into the water from a passenger vessel is considered interfering with the safe operation of the vessel, a violation of 46 United States Code, Section 2302. By law, rail jumpers must be reported to the USCG and are subject to federal prosecution and fines up to $33,333 per person.

By request, we can offer cruises which allow disembarking at an island or sandbar which you would then be free to swim at your own risk. Due to insurance requirements, all guests will need to sign liability waivers. We do not allow jumping from the vessel at any time, nor do we allow swimming directly from the vessel. We will only allow disembarkment once the captain has securely anchored the vessel in water shallow enough for all guests to stand. Guests assume all liability once off the vessel, and will be required to sign a liability waiver prior to any cruise which may include disembarkment into the shallow water, or anywhere that is not a commercial dock. We are limited to 6 passengers maximum on Proud Mary.

Fishing

There is no fishing permitted aboard Proud Mary, however, we are happy to refer you to local fishing charter boats should you be interested in this recreational activity.

Water Activities

Due to insurance and Coast Guard restrictions, we are unable to allow water activities such as water-skiing, tubing, parasailing, kayaking, paddleboarding, etc.
